Why we walk
A national call for healing — for women, for children, for the communities that have carried the weight.
Walk Her Story is Footprints Foundation’s survivor-centred response to gender-based violence in South Africa. It is not a single event. It is a movement built on four practices: healing, storytelling, accountability, and coaction.
In 2026 we roll out nationally — through community walks, survivor-led healing circles, school-based programmes, digital storytelling, and partnerships with organisations like FootGolf South Africa ahead of the 2026 FootGolf World Cup. But none of it moves without a community willing to walk alongside us.
This page is where that walk begins. Tell us how you can show up — with time, with a skill, or with resources. We will contact every pledge personally. No pressure, no auto-charges, no small print. Just a conversation.
“Walk Her Story is a national call for healing — for women, for children, and for communities who have carried the weight of silence for too long.”
